Microsoft starts pre-orders for Surface Power Cover, ships March 19th
Microsoft has opened up pre-orders for its Surface Power Cover, with shipments set to start on March 19th in the United States. Spotted by ZDNet in the Microsoft Store for $200, the Power Cover adds up to 70-percent more battery life to the Surface Pro, Surface 2, and Surface Pro 2 tablets, and retains the same keyboard and touchpad as other Surface covers, though it adds 9.75mm (0.38 inches) and just over half a pound in weight to each tablet.
Sales figures suggest close to millionth unit milestone
The Raspberry Pi micro computer has sold at least 500,000 units since launch, and could have reached the million-unit mark, according to sales figures. Numbers released by Element 14 (Premier Farnell) has confirmed that the hobbyist and low-cost computer system has passed the half-million barrier, while previous figures from the other distributor, RS Components, suggest it may have already passed the millionth shipped sale.
Heck puts Xbox 360 into 1977 Atari console
Element 14's electronics modder Ben Heck has now been commissioned by Atari to create a piece of hardware that will play Atari's new games while reminding gamers of its hardware-building past. To achieve this, Heck tore out the brains of a brand new Xbox 360 and installed them into an emptied 1977 Atari console. The creation is also portable, as it has an integrated LCD screen.
