Samsung adds DMB mobile TV to P2 media player

June 24 - 4:35pm EDT   Samsung today announced the release of its Yepp P2 DMB portable media player, adding the ability to play television programs and movies delivered via Korea's DMB mobile TV standard. The new device will add a hideaway antenna and a built-in T-DMB tuner to pick up the streaming video service. The device also includes the same features it was launched with, including Bluetooth 2.0 support for wireless headphone set-up, an FM radio and a 3-inch touchscreen. [full story]

iRiver debuts touch-driven P10 player

May 20 - 9:25am EDT   iRiver today expanded its media player lineup and launched the P.ple P10. The device is one of iRiver's rare touchscreen devices and uses its 4.3-inch, 800x480 display as both a home for photo and video playback as well as for editing. For entertainment, owners can watch Flash, MPEG 1/2/4, WMV, and XviD videos stored on the 33GB of free hard drive space as well as watch live digital TV broadcasts in Korea through an optional version with a DMB tuner. Cowon rolls out N3 media player, GPS, TV hybrid

December 27 - 11:25am EST   Cowon today finished its device upgrades for 2007 with the launch of the N3. An upgrade to the N2, the N3 is built to be used either at home or in the car as a multi-purpose tool: though it includes a GPS unit with full navigation tools, the device also uses its 7-inch screen for playing back music and video. A picture-in-picture feature allows users to watch a smaller video window while keeping track of the route ahead, Cowon says. At 800x480, the display is sharp enough to play DivX, MPEG 1/4, Windows Media, and XviD movies at greater than DVD resolution. LG Rhapsody emulates iPod wheel, packs 1GB and TV

December 6 - 10:35am EST   Not content with just the release of the upgraded Chocolate, LG's home cellphone brand CYON today unveiled the LB3300. Nicknamed the Rhapsody in Music, the slider is built for quick music access and includes a circular scroll wheel for navigating menus and song lists much like that of the original iPod. Unlike its American sibling, the Rhapsody already includes 1GB of built-in memory to store music as well as a microSD slot for more. In Korea, the device also carries a DMB tuner that picks up over-the-air digital TV broadcasts. [full story]
