CherryPal not shipping its products as promised
The $188, 7-inch Android tablet that is the CherryPad is not shipping to disgruntled buyers, who were expecting the devices by October 15. One such buyer who wrote in to CrunchGear says a tracking number told him the device is enroute on October 20. The number did not correspond to any packages in the UPS, FedEx, DHL or USPS system, however.

CherryPal ships $188 Android tablet with Wi-Fi
CherryPal, the California-based maker of the $99 Linux netbook for Africa, has just announced the CherryPad America tablet. Its 7-inch, 800x480 touchscreen is matched by Android 2.1 and has access to the Android Market with enough visual performance for 3D gaming. The electronics firm talks up the device as a "sub-iPad" tablet that sits in the category but doesn't compete with Apple's $499 hardware.

Cherrypal Africa carries 7in screen, Linux
Cherrypal today sought to bend the limits of notebooks by formally releasing the Africa, what it bills as the world's first $99 portable. The system is intended both for the developed and developing worlds and achieves its price by using a 7-inch screen, a normally phone-oriented 400MHz processor and the choice of either Linux or Windows CE. By virtue of its roots, the Africa only needs 256MB of RAM and 2GB of permanent storage.

CherryPal intros cloud PC
CherryPal on Monday announced it will soon begin shipping its cloud PC, the CherryPal Desktop. The paperback-book sized box has just 256MB of DDR2 memory and a 4GB flash drive, and runs on Freescale's MPC5121e mobileGT processor, good for 400MHz. Included in the purchase price of the CherryPal is 50GB of Internet storage, all managed and protected by CherryPal staff. Accessing the web is via the PC's Ethernet jack or 802.11b/g Wi-Fi.
