PopChar X 4.0 font tool
Ergonis Software on Tuesday released PopChar X 4.0, the latest version of its long standing font tool designed to help users find and type special text characters in OS X. Supporting Unicode fonts as well as thousands of characters, PopChar 4.0 brings a 'popup' menu that appears when users click a subtle menubar icon to select desired characters instantly without need of complex keyboard combinations. With added support for HTML symbols, Ergonis sees the software not only as an essential tool for users who frequently use non-standard characters, but also web designers and technologists.

CrazyTalk 5 live puppets
Reallusion recently unveiled CrazyTalk 5.0, a major update to its 3D character animation and lip-syncing application, adding support for non-human characters, enhanced facial meshes, and more. CrazyTalk 5.0 features real-time puppeteer control through the mouse or other input device, as well as five default puppet profiles, which can give the avatar a wicked, goofy, youthful, attractive, or grumpy demeanor. CrazyTalk 5.0 sells for $50, with a Pro version available for $150.

Fable: The Lost Chapters
Feral Interactive has announced a release date for Fable: The Lost Chapters, a new action role-playing game for the Mac: Monday, March 31st. The game invites players to take the role of a legendary Hero and create his life story from child to old man. "Players are challenged to undertake quests and perform great deeds and in so doing must make a multitude of choices and decisions along the way. Each decision and every action shapes the character of the Hero; skills, appearance and even morality are all affected." The game will retail in the US for $50.00, £35 (inc VAT) in the UK and 50 euros throughout Europe. It is currently available for pre-order from Feral's online store. Minimum system requirements call for a 1.6GHz or faster PowerPC or Intel-based Mac, 512MB RAM, 64MB graphics card and Mac OS X v10.4.8 or later.

PopChar X 3.4 update
Ergonis Software today unveiled PopChar X 3.4, an update to its special character finding and typing utility, offering several new features such as an enhanced search feature. The search function can now locate characters by name, Unicode number, or example. Users also have access to a new contextual menu which allows then to copy characters to the clipboard. Ergonis Software is currently selling PopChar X 3.4 for €30 (~$50)
