Canon redesigns Pixma, CanoScan line, prepares to ship

Wireless printers have paper cartridges at front, sits flush to wall

Canon has refreshed its printer and scanner lines with an improved design aesthetic and a number of functional improvements. Three Pixma printers, two of which are classed as "All-In-One" printers, and a CanoScan scanner have been listed by the company as being close to release in stores, with wireless connectivity being the main focal point, besides the redesigns.

Canon geared up its back-to-school efforts with a pair of all-in-one printers and a trio of scanners. Aside from a more streamlined design, the PIXMA MP480 and the simpler MP190 both print faster, producing color images at 16 and 15 pages per second respectively (20/19 in black and white). The MP480 is similarly fast at generating full-quality four-by-six inch images and will create a borderless example in as little as 45 seconds versus the 70 of the MP190.
