The first carbon fiber Bluetooth headset that went through the FCC earlier this month has now been made official, and is available for purchase from Bluetrek's website. The finished product weighs just 5.9 grams (0.2 ounces) and supports voice alerts in three languages, including English, Spanish, and Mandarin Chinese. Phone owners can pair with two phones at the same time.
A new, ultralight Bluetooth 3.0 headset has just appeared undergoing FCC testing. The device is the first of its kind to be constructed entirely of carbon fiber. The natural strength of the material also allowed the designers to make the microphone boom very thin.
ModeLabs Group on Monday introduced what the company claims is the lightest and thinnest Bluetooth headset yet with the Bluetrek Metal. Despite being made mostly of metal, the headset's claimed weight is just 5.5 grams, or less than a fifth of an ounce. The French company's newest product is about 4mm (0.16 inches) thick as well.
