June 12 - 4:20pm EDT   Best Buy Mobile to offer free, half-price Storm to reward members Starting this Sunday, June 14th, through to Saturday June 20th, Best Buy Mobile will reportedly offer its Best Buy Reward Zone members two special deals on the BlackBerry Storm from provider Verizon Wireless. Premier Silver members can get the handset for free when they agree to a new two-year contract, while all Reward Zone members will pay $50 for the Storm with the same commitment. [full story]

June 10 - 9:20am EDT   Virgin Mobile USA on Wednesday announced it will soon offer a pre-paid 3G Internet access service called Broadband2Go. Users will need to buy a Novatel MC760 USB modem, which will access the web via Sprint's EV-DO Revisoin A network. The modem plugs into the USB ports on Mac, Windows, or Linux computers and has an internal dual-band diversity antenna with an option for an external antenna for better performance in remote areas. April 16 - 5:05pm EDT   Best Buy Mobile is offering the Samsung Instinct S30 to new buyers for just $49.99, according to the retailer's latest flyer. The price applies to new two-year contracts and undercuts Sprint's own in-house pricing, previously announced to be priced at nearly $130 after mail-in rebates and instant savings when it is released on April 19th. January 26 - 3:40pm EST   The recently leaked VX9600 Versa from LG will be making its way to Best Buy Mobile, thanks to a leaked inventory screen capture. If it holds true, the modular phone should be available at the retailer on February 22nd, with a release at Verizon Wireless expected around the same time. The handset introduces a new form factor, as it sports a detachable QWERTY keyboard that also has a small external display from the main, touchscreen section. December 19 - 11:00am EST   Best Buy Mobile has begun a special holiday promotion for the iPhone 3G that will last for the next few weeks, according to the Boy Genius Report. The 8GB model will carry a price of $190, while the 16GB version will be priced at $290. Although the discount only chips off $10, the sale undercuts even the reported costs at Walmart stores of $197 and $297. Best Buy even includes double reward zone points, equating to approximately $10 or $15 in certificates for the 8GB and 16GB models, respectively. [full story]

October 30 - 4:20pm EDT   The N96 smartphone from Nokia is now available for purchase at Best Buy Mobile, priced at a high $800. While the lofty price tag was expected for the company's flagship handset, it's nevertheless more than four times the price of an iPhone or T-Mobile G1, though the N96's price is contract-free. The online Best Buy listing for the Finnish-made smartphone is $100 dearer, at nearly $900. It is, however, back-ordered. October 7 - 4:35pm EDT   A leaked Best Buy Mobile presentation slide that surfaced on Monday has revealed ship dates for a few upcoming handsets from various carriers. The leak revealed the Verizon Blitz in Titanium, which is priced at $300 on Best Buy’s site and only marked as Coming Soon, will ship on October 26th. Other handsets set to ship on the same date according to the slide include the HTC Touch Pro with Sprint, the BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 with T-Mobile and the Samsung M540 Rant from Sprint in black, an exclusive-to-Best Buy purple or red.
