New bPay wristband, key fob, sticker provides contactless payments in UK
Barclaycard is expanding the number of ways people in the United Kingdom can make contactless payments, by offering more NFC-equipped items. A bPay sticker, along with a key fob and a wristband, will be going on sale in the country soon, allowing customers to make the contactless payments quickly without having to carry an NFC-equipped smartphone or go through prompts in an accompanying smartphone app.
Card follows earlier iTunes Rewards offering
Apple and Barclaycard have partnered on new credit card that grants users Apple Store gift cards. The Barclaycard Visa with Apple Rewards gets users a $25 card for every 2,500 points earned. In the past Apple only offered the Barclaycard iTunes Rewards Visa Card, which earned Mac buyers credit towards purchases at the iTunes Store.
ISIS mobile payments to arrive in Salt Lake City, Austin, on October 22
The ISIS mobile payment system is set to go live on October 22, according to some leaked memos from the carrier. Shared by TMoNews, the image reveals that the ISIS Mobile Wallet app will arrive at Google Play store on October 22. Those in Salt Lake City, Utah, and Austin, Texas, will be able to use the system as part of a pilot program.
Chase, Capital One, Barclaycard first companies
Isis, the mobile commerce venture between AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon have finalized their wireless payment standard for mobile devices, calling it Isis Mobile Wallet. It's due to launch this summer, with Chase, Capital One, and Barclaycard being the first banks to sign up and have their credit, debit, and prepaid cards be compatible with the system. The first merchants to support the system will be located in Salt Lake City and Austin, Texas. Like Google Wallet, its major competitor, Isis Mobile Wallet let users securely pay for goods and merchandise with their handsets.

The NFC Forum has added some high profile vendors its ranks. Recently, Sharp, ZTE, and HTC joined the non-profit organization that advances the use of Near Field Communication (NFC) technology. Other notable participants include Barclaycard and Isis, the mobile payment joint venture between Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&T.
UK’s first contactless mobile payment service
UK cell provider Orange and Barclaycard have teamed up to launch Quick Tap, a contactless NFC mobile payment service. Using a phone with a specially enabled SIM card, a customer can pay for a purchase simply by touching it to a retailer's contactless reader. Currently there is a limit of £15 ($25 US) for each transaction.
