Audio-Techinca turntable converts vinyl to MP3s

Audio-Technica on Tuesday introduced its AT-LP60-USB LP-to-Digital Turntable System that lets users convert the music recorded on their vinyl collections to digital media files. The turntable ships with a phono cartridge, USB cable and software that is compatible with both Windows and Mac OS X computers. A phono preamp is built-in, and users can select between 33.33 and 45RPM playback speeds.

Audio-Technica outs new QuietPoint headphones

Audio-Technica on Tuesday revealed its new ATH-ANC1 QuietPoint active noise-cancelling on-ear headphones. The headphones use the company's active noise-cancelling technology to block out 85 percent of ambient noise and produce clear sound. For less weight on the user's head, the noise-canceling technology is on an external module inline with the signal cord.

Tech reduces background noise by 85%

Audio-Technica has released its latest noise-canceling headphones, the ATH-ANC7b QuietPoint. The active noise-canceling technology is claimed to reduce background noise by up to 85 percent. A closed-back design houses large-aperture 40mm drivers with neodymium magnets, which reproduce sound from 10Hz to 25.5KHz with a sensitivity of 109dB and a 300 ohm impedance.

Audio-Technica on Wednesday debuted 11 new ATR series microphones designed for home recordings, live performances, computers or camcorders. Products include the ATR1500, ATR1300, ATR1200 and ATR1100 vocal/instrument mics; the ATR6550, ATR6250, ATR4697 and ATR2250 specialty mics; the ATR4700 and ATR4600 computer mics; and the ATR5200 headset mic.

Audio-Technica grew its still-small noise-reduction headphone line today through the ATH-ANC7b, its main and only over-ear model in the category. It upgrades an earlier outgoing model with a purportedly more natural and richer sound. It continues to use an active cancellation process with dual microphones that pick up outside sound; the company believes about 85 percent of outside sound is eliminated before it reaches the listener's ears. Noise canceling demands batteries but can be turned off.

Audio Technica on Friday announced the upcoming release of a number of headphones that range from the entry-level earbuds to the ultra high-end meant for audiophiles. Starting at the top is the ATH-A2000X set that includes 53mm (about 2.1in) diameter drivers and deliver frequency response of 5Hz-45kHz. They also share their 42-ohm impedance level and maximum loudness of 101dB with the slightly less costly ATH-A1000X set. Apart from the gold color of the aluminum housings, the lesser headset gives up some fidelity, with a slightly lower frequency response range of 5Hz-42kHz. Either set is intended for use by dedicated listeners.
