Amp and stompbox emulation for mobile devices

IK Multimedia has launched its Amplitube Fender app for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. The new app emulates a number of classic Fender amp and stomp box tones and was designed in conjunction with the tone gurus at Fender. Like the original Amplitube app, it works in conjunction with the iRig interface adapter. The six included Fender stomps include Fender Phaser, Fender Blender, Tape Delay, Overdrive, Compressor (by registering) and Noise Filter. It also includes five amps with matching cabinets including the ’65 Deluxe reverb, ’65 Twin reverb, ’59 Bassman LTD, Super-Sonic, and Pro Junior.

A new ad for the iPad has debuted, continuing the series of "iPad is ..." ads of recent months. The new spot, "iPad is Electric," is the third in the series, and features a number of popular iPad apps as the other do but ends with a short showcase of AmpliTube's iRig for iPad.

AmpliTube update emulates Fender guitar sounds

AmpliTube updates released

IK Multimedia has released two software updates, AmpliTube Fender 1.0.1 and AmpliTube X-Gear 1.3.1. AmpliTube Fender offers a selection of 45 classic and modern Fender guitar and bass amps, cabinets, stompboxes, and rack effects. Amplitube X-Gear allows users to customize their own guitar sounds, with access to 195 amps and effects from all current AmpliTube software. Both programs have fixed small glitches, such as pedal displays and reverb values, along with memory and CPU optimizations.

AmpliTube 2 Duo bundles Notion Progression

Amplitube 2 Duo launched

IK Multimedia today unveiled AmpliTube 2 Duo, a version of its AmpliTube 2 software that is bundled with Notion Music's Progression – an application for creating, learning, and distributing music. When combined, IK claims the pair allows users to create custom sounds using "ultra-accurate" sound models. IK Multimedia and Notion are offering AmpliTube 2 Duo from IK's website, but pricing is not readily available. Existing IK customers can crossgrade for $270.

IK thanks AmpliTube users with free plugins

IK offers free plugins

IK Multimedia recently announced that users of its Pro Tools plugin AmpliTube LE are now eligible to receive a free upgrade to AmpliTube 2 Duo, as well as a copy of Ampeg SVX Uno. The company says these offerings are part of a customer appreciation promotion due to the plugin’s worldwide popularity, and is even available to customers who bought the combined Digibundle package. AmpliTube emulates four components in a typical electric guitarist’s setup: a tuner, stomp, amp, and cabinet plus microphone. AmpliTube also comes with several different models of each module, with 30 preset sounds and 16 amp combinations. New users can purchase AmpliTube 2 Duo for $400, and is available through its website and major authorized retailers.
