High-power, long-range wireless solutions provider Amped Wireless is shipping the next model in its TAP Series of Touch Screen Wi-Fi devices, the 802.11ac TAP-R2. Equipped with a total of six high-power amplifiers and two high-gain antennas (external and internal), the TAP-R2 delivers up to 800mW of Wi-Fi output power, with setup entirely on the device's touchscreen. The new router will be available on February 23, and will cost $160.

Amped Wireless has released two new high-power Wi-Fi directional USB adapter, the UA1000 and the UA2000. The company claims the directional adapters are capable of boosting wireless range up to three times normal performance.
