Absoft Pro Fortran 11 uses 64-bit compilers

Further adds Snow Leopard support

Absoft has launched Pro Fortran 11 for the Mac. Version 11 includes both 32- and 64-bit compilers, allowing developers to design code for Mac, Windows and Linux using a single code source. Similarly present is support for OpenMP multi-core parallel programming standards when using Nehalem-era Xeon processors.

Fx3 stand-alone debugger

Absoft has announced its Fx3 debugger now available as a stand-alone application for Fortran developers on the Mac OS X. Previously bundled as part of Absoft’s Pro Fortran program, Fx3 provides a command line interface that offers analysis and control during the debugging process on the Mac or Linux. The Fx3 debugger as a stand-alone is still compatible with Absoft Pro Fortran and Intel Fortran Compilers, Apple C and GNU C compilers, and assembly language. In addition, Fx3 can work in both 32- and 64-bit executables and is multi-processor aware.
