Maggot Software has released v3.1.3 of its Conformalizer utility. The application is used during sound editing in video recuts, and can detect VFX changes as cuts evolve. The update includes support for AVID Pro Tools 8, and adds new auto-conform routines, an updated search feature, and improved QuickTime views with better response and restored playback controls. The software can automatically conform a Pro Tools 8 session, or any text file separated by tabs and commas. Other compatible items include CMX3600 EDLs, film cut lists, Final Cut XMLs and AVID change notes. The v3.1.3 update further allows colorization of events to indicate unmatched shots, as well as VFX changes. Operating in tandem is the new Compare Selected Events option, which provides tracing functions.
Conformalizer requires Mac OS X 10.4 and is available from the Maggot website. A single-user license costs $800, while five-user licenses cost $3,200. Another option is the "Maggot Meal Deal," which bundles four apps, including Conformalizer, for $1,000. Registered users of v3.x can upgrade for free.
