iPhone apps: Pinboard, Grocery Gadget, My Database
Pinboard ($2) is an application that can help a user keep track of notes, reminders and other important facts. Users can drag the notes around the screen and "pin" them up where they want. This allows the information to be organized in a way that is logical to the user.
Grocery Gadget Shopping List ($3) lets users build a list of favorite items from the built-in database or add their own, then arrange them into into shopping lists. The list total is then calculated based on the prices in the database which can be changed to match actual prices. While shopping users can tick off the items they have picked up and the total cost of items in their cart is kept up-to-date.
My Database ($5) is a small database application that allows users to create database tables to store information. The stored data can then be exported through an email as CSV files and viewed on a computer.
Instavis ($10) allows users to create mind maps, flowcharts and concept maps directly on an iPhone or iPod touch. When a rough shape is drawn on the screen the software will recognize the shape and replace it with a neat ellipse, circle, rectangle, square, diamond or triangle. Shapes can then be linked by drawing a line between them and as links are made the graph is redrawn with the most appropriate layout.
Shopper ($1) helps create shopping lists that can be checked off as they are completed. Multiple lists can be made that are for specific stores, or recipes from the built-in catalog or from custom entries. The lists can then be arranged and organized with prices and quantities for tracking a budget and expenses.
