Commander/Napoleon for OS X, SlotZ Racer for iPhone
Freeverse and Slitherine today announced two new game title -- one for the iPhone and one for Mac OS X. The developer noted the upcoming release of Commander - Napoleon at War for the Mac OS X as well as the release of SlotZ Racer for iPhone/iPod touch. Commander: Napoleon at War is the second game in the Commander series, taking the Commander: Europe at War engine "to the next level." Building on its predecessor, Commander: Napoleon at War is a high-level turn-based strategy game that brings the same simple and intuitive gameplay mechanics from the WWII setting to the Napoleonic era, designed to create a different and even more compelling gaming experience. The company said the exact release date was unknown and did not disclose pricing or system requirements.

In Commander - Napoleon at War, players must use the combined arms of infantry, cavalry and artillery combined with the innovations and strategies of the Napoleonic wars to secure victory. Play on a beautifully rendered map of Napoleonic Europe, where terrain and weather play a large role and mud and snow may bog down your army at a crucial time. Logistics are also modeled, with supply lines, resources and sieges and the use of privateers and naval superiority to stifle trade routes. Players have twelve unit types to choose from as well as 15 research paths, and eight immersive historical campaigns from 1805 through 1815!

Freeverse also announced the upcoming release of SlotZ Racer, a slot car racing game for the iPhone and iPod touch. Developed by Strange Flavour, SlotZ Racer "puts the thrill of realistic 3D slot cars in the palm of your hand. Relive those great childhood memories of building tracks, burning rubber, and racing with your friends and family." Freeverse said that SlotZ Racer will be released within the next few weeks.

SlotZ Racer lets players race against the computer or friends via a unique control system allows up to four people to race on a single iPhone. Players can compete for laps or against the clock in Time Trials, drive an endurance race, (with simulated days and nights), or play a 'Quick Race' to jump straight into the action.

SlotZ Racer features a track editor to give players the freedom to design their own coursesand offers a wide selection of cars to race. The game also includes unlockable new circuits, cars, track locations and championship challenges.

Players can also set up each track to be two- or four-lanes, clip together track pieces, or even build a complete club style circuit; they also have the option to play with lane changing or fixed lanes.
