HD Log 6.0 adds support for AVC-Intra codec
Imagine Products has launched HD Log 6.0, an update to its media-file customization and management program. The latest version supports the Panasonic AVC-Intra codec, for encoding of 10-bit independent-frame HD video at data rates up to 100Mbps. Media offloading functions have also been added, making it possible to copy any type of cards or discs to up to three locations without losing speed. The software further allows simultaneous offloading from multiple sources, with support for Panasonic P2 and AVCHD cards, Sony SxS, RED ONE, and more.

The program offers a P2 import option, which enables users to automatically replace the camera's low-resolution bitmap thumbnail with a larger JPEG file for web posting, printing and previewing. Users can instantly play clips at full-screen resolution, mark clips, edit metadata, print or export to Final Cut Pro.

The basic version of HD Log 6.0, Bronze, is available for $300. The Silver version is priced at $500 and adds a video-assist mode, QT encoding, and instant monitor preview. The Gold variant can be obtained for $700, and offers additional batch QT encoding, customizable XML export, and database contribution and query for Mac Digital Clip Library.
