XChange International releases pdfToolbox Server 4
Xchange International has released pdfToolbox Server 4, an update to its PDF preflighting automation software. The new version adds metadata support, compatibility with PDF 1.7/Acrobat 9 files, and "hot folder" connections to workflows for batch processing. The program includes configuration files that can correct and edit over 100 PDF attributes. Users can also use the tools to embed missing fonts, add imposition schemes, or compress images.

The program uses IPTC, XMP, and other metadata to check over a thousand characteristics, which are then organized into a report for printing or export. The tools can be used for preflighting, presentation, color management, or automatic correction. pdfToolbox Server 4 works with Mac and Windows systems and is currently available from the company, with an approximate price of $500 USD.
