New MacBook Airs begin shipping |
Despite indications of delay, Apple's revised MacBook Air is now shipping, anecdotes indicate. A number of shoppers now say their orders are listed as either "prepared for shipment," or already in the middle of shipping. Although one user suggests that in-preparation Airs may arrive as late as November 6th, the ones currently being delivered are expected to arrive by November 3rd at the latest, possibly before Friday.The update to the MacBook Air brings it in line with the latest full-size MacBooks, which use CPUs from Intel's Montevina platform, and are equipped with a GeForce 9400M graphics chipset, claimed to be five times faster than Intel's own GMA X3100. Other enhancements to the Air include faster RAM and larger hard drive and SSD options. |
