Samsung's Omnia smartphone, considered to be one of many rivals to the Apple iPhone, may arrive in the United States by mid-November, a leak suggests. A purported rebate document shows a $70 discount applying between October 14th and November 15th, even though no formal release date has been announced. Although the entry could be outdated or otherwise inaccurate, it does hint that the phone might be available next month at the latest. The Omnia -- currently sold only in Europe and Asia -- is based on Windows Mobile 6.1, but is primarily a touchscreen device with its own overlaid interface. Also present are a miniature trackpad, a five-megapixel camera, and wireless receivers for GPS, FM radio and Wi-Fi. Storage consists of 8 or 16GB of internal memory supplemented by a microSD slot.
