Lacquer expands Conduit to ...
Lacquer has expanded its Conduit platform, which now has software to support the Pixel Bender technology in Flash Player 10. Pixel Bender lets developers bypass Flash's normal effects and blending systems, for the sake of implementing their own shaders. Shaders are also said to enable use of multicore processors, whether for rendering graphics or running other Flash-based processes.

Conduit is said to simplify the creation of shaders through a drag-and-drop development environment, which provides graphical feedback; code is then exported for testing within Flash Player, or other Flash and Flex creations. As necessary, multipass effects are supported through the use of special ActionScript commands. Lacquer says it is currently beta-testing its Pixel Bender software, but it can be pre-ordered for $68.
