The short description claims improved reliability and compatibility with Java 2 Platform Standard Edition 5.0 and Java 1.4 on OS X 10.4.11 and later. An error checking issue has been fixed, now preventing malicious websites from executing arbitrary code. Another security enhancement prevents untrusted Java applets from obtaining higher privileges, also preventing them from executing arbitrary code. Java for Mac OS X 10.4 Release 7 is available as a free download from Apple.
