QuickBooks 2009 for Mac features new management tools
Accounting and tax software company Intuit is set to release the latest Mac version of QuickBooks 2009 early next month. The company delved further into Mac capabilities offered by Spotlight and Coverview to enhance tools used for organizing customers, vendors, and transactions. Company Snapshot is a new feature allowing income and expense graphs, balances, and reminders to be summarized and charted on one screen, developing the software into a tool for making presentations to clients.

Time required for data entry has been reduced; online bank and credit card transaction statements can be directly imported using WebConnect or DirectConnect access. E-mail functions have been improved by adding batch mail and invoice flagging.

Users that keep important due dates organized on iCal will appreciate the integration of the calendar program with QuickBooks. Backup to .Mac addresses is supported and compatibility with Excel 2004 or 2008. MacMall has QuickBooks 2009 for Mac available to pre-order for $180, shipping early in October. Apple Insider claims the 9th to be the official shipping day.
