Podcasting app rejected from App Store |
Another app has been rejected with controversy from iTunes' App Store. Podcaster, an app which lets users stream and subscribe to podcasts away from their desktop, has allegedly been barred from sale because it "duplicates the functionality" of the podcast utilities in iTunes. The app's developer has complained publicly, noting that numerous apps replicate the functionality of Apple software, including aspects of podcasting.The developer further claims that Apple has no legal provision against imitating desktop software with a mobile app, and says he has asked the company for advice on securing an approval. He has meanwhile taken to selling the software directly, charging $10 for users willing to supply their UDID number. |
