Sprint adds HTC Touch Pro, Diamond to mix
Sprint marked the opening of CTIA with a slew of new phones, headlined by two HTC Windows Mobile devices aimed at giving the provider a greater edge in touchscreen phones. The HTC Touch Pro is a surprise entry and brings the touchscreen-plus-QWERTY slider design to the carrier's CDMA phone network, likely with EVDO Revision A-based 3G Internet access. In Sprint form, the device keeps the TouchFLO interface and 3.2-megapixel camera of the reference model but adds a 1GB microSD card to give the phone built-in storage.

The handset is Sprint's most expensive introduction today and will sell for $300 on a two-year plan and rebate when it ships October 19th.

After a premature review, Sprint has also made official the HTC Touch Diamond. The device is virtually identical to the version reviewed by Electronista last month with 4GB of built-in storage but adds Sprint-specific features, including a slightly customized interface, access to the Sprint Music Store and streaming Sprint TV. It comes with a unique red back and will ship for $250 on contract sometime this month.
