QuickBooks Online coming to Safari, FireFox
QuickBooks Online will soon be available for the Mac community and both Safari and Firefox support is expected, according to its development leader. In QuickBooks's community forum, Thai Bui, QuickBooks Online Product Development Leader, explains that development is progressing, as they work to port the small business online accounting service from Internet Explorer. "We are actively working on making our product compatible with other browsers (including Safari)." Internet Explorer's underpinnings differ from Safari and Firefox, Bui explained.

"We have a large product that currently uses ActiveX and was initially tuned to work with Internet Explorer. Therefore, it will require a large amount of work and will take some time on our part to accomplish." Bui did not give a timeline for Safari and Firefox support.

The basic QuickBooks Online service is $10 per month, with a $35 per month Plus service geared towards larger, multi-user and multi-location businesses. It currently requires Mac users to access the service from a Boot Camp volume, or use an iPhone.
