Mobile Me problems persist ...
Glitches in Apple's MobileMe service persist five days after its launch, with users unable to access either the HomePage creation tool to make or edit web sites, as well as .Mac groups. The problems have sat silently since July 10th, with a notice informing users that the issues would be solved in short order, and no other explanation for the issue. Users affected by the HomePage outage can still use iWeb or a third-party website creation tool as a supplement.

MobileMe has observed a rocky starting period, with users intermittently unable to obtain the software update for .Mac, as well as several login issues, as well as setting up alternative "reply-to" address. Apple has not commented on when they plan to have a fix for the issues, but users are hopeful that the company's silence indicates fast-moving progress. MobileMe launched last Thursday, offering users tighter integration between Macs, PCs, iPhones, and online personal content than the former .Mac service. Users have to give up a few minor features – such as iCards – but gain access to BlackBerry-like Push email, a cleaner, Web 2.0 interface, and more. In related news, the recent iPhone launch is still drawing crowds of people, lining up for subsequent shipments of the popular device at AT&T and Apple stores in the US. Almost everywhere, potential iPhone owners are seeking the device, only to be told that none are in stock, but that shipments are being delivered regularly. An Apple store in Burlingame, California has been noted to have customers lining up around the block, waiting for their chance to own the coveted device.
