Remote caps Top 10 free app...
Despite only launching this morning, the iTunes App Store already features a list of top free applications for download, starting off with Apple's own Remote app. Remote allows users to control iTunes or music through an Apple TV directly from their iPhone or iPod touch, in addition to AirTunes-connected speakers. AOL and Facebook round out the top three apps with AOL Instant Messenger, and the Facebook contact viewing/management/interaction application.

Google Mobile App sits and number four, allowing users to find web pages, business listings, and contacts, among other information, through its various online services. WeatherBug provides users with an on-device version of its Web 2.0 weather forecasting application, and eBay Mobile lets users search, bid, and check on auctions. The New York Times NYTimes reader provides users with up-to-date articles that can be downloaded for reading offline, while Twitterrific allows for interaction with the rapidly-growing social network site, Twitter. AOL Radio, at number nine, pumps through over 200 CBS-owned music channels, spanning 25 music genres, and access to over 150 CBS Radio stations. The top ten is rounded out with Pandora Radio, an online, searchable music streaming service that formulates listening recommendations based on what the user selects.
