Dates for the Australian and South African iPhones have allegedly been confirmed, according to a site in the latter country. The South African phone is said to have been announced for July 20th, sold by Vodacom, in which international carrier Vodafone is a majority shareholder. In May Vodafone announced plans to launch the iPhone in 10 new countries, including South Africa amongst the likes of Italy, Portugal, Greece and India.

Australia is meanwhile expected to receive the iPhone directly from Vodafone, and much sooner, with a date of June 29th. The iPhone originally launched on the same date in the US last year, and this comes in the same month that a new 3G iPhone has been anticipated for various regions around the world. Australian Apple resellers have been receiving "mystery" boxes they are not allowed to open until June 10th, which corresponds with today's WWDC keynote in San Francisco.
