[u] QuickTime update breaks...
Users on Apple's Discussion boards are experiencing a hanging problem with several websites after the recent Quicktime 7.4.1 update. The problem seems to manifest when visiting particular Flash-enabled websites such as YouTube and ESPN.com, causing the browser to "beach ball" until it has been forced to quit. Users isolated the problems by disabling plug-ins, which allowed the sites to function properly.

Users say the problem resolves upon several different factors. For some, a simple restart works, while others have to empty browser cache or re-install several components. Others say that visiting ESPN.com renews the problem, and they advise users to stay away until the issue has been properly resolved. The issue appears to affect both Safari and Firefox users on the Mac, while PC users don't seem to be affected in either Internet Explorer or Firefox, even in a Boot Camp volume. Attempts to contact ESPN about the issue have resulted in several generic service replies, recommending users empty their Internet Explorer browser cash, and so on. Neither ESPN nor Apple have commented on the matter.
