Ilexsoft today unveiled HighDesign 1.8, a major update to its professional CAD application, featuring over 50 new features and improvements. HighDesign Professional supports the AutoCAD DWG and DXB file formats, from v9.x to 2008, while both Standard and Professional versions support DXF from v12.x to 2006. The Professional version can export projects as high-quality TIFF images. HighDesign 1.8 Standard sells for $150, while the Professional version is available for $350.
Printing has also been optimized, allowing users to adjust output resolution, and choose whether or not the grid is printed. HighDesign 1.8 provides users with better organization tools with the new Styles and Presets. Tool settings can be saved and recalled in any project, while Styles organizes project items by properties, as well as selects any tool with any preset with one click.
Dimensions in the current unit can be adjusted in every regard, including label offset, gabs, and attributes, allowing the files to maintain standard-compliancy. The new Stretch tool allows users to experiment with transforming a drawing with two clicks, and arrowheads and markers have been improved with new types and adjustable size.
Ilexsoft improved the performance of HighDesign, and the user interface has been modified to be increasingly simple.
