Open Reel Software recently unveiled Aether, a new application designed to log ham radio sessions. Aether provides tools to quickly and easily log contacts while on the air, as well as organize, search and track contacts after the fact. Features include instant search, automatic callbook lookup, serial rig control, cocoaModem integration and more. Aether is available for $40 and requires Mac OS X 10.4 or higher.

Aether also provides Google Maps integration, allowing users to get high-resolution maps of any QHT in the world. Once on a station, the user just presses the Google Map button on the control panel to see the exact location of the station they are conversing with. Automatic dupe checking allows users to verify whether or not they have called a station before, and how many QSOs have occurred with the station. Aether also provides the option to automatically fill in callbook information, including name and QTH from the most recent past QSO with a previously worked station.
