WaterField unveils HardCase...
WaterField Designs of San Francisco has announced plans to ship its new custom-fitted HardCase for Apple's new MacBook Air as well as the MacBook Pro and MacBook. The new HardCase is constructed of smooth leather and ballistic nylon, offering protection in a classic and minimal design. Customizable options allow Apple notebook owners to personalize the case to taste, with pre-orders priced from $230-$250. WaterField's new case is slated for shipment starting February 10th.

The HardCase aims to project a refined look with its dual-tone leather flap, an integrated leather handle, and an aluminum paragliding buckle. The main compartment provides three layers of protection while maintaining a slim, lightweight look. The protective chamber is layered with a soft padded liner that hugs the laptop, a layer of high-density foam, and an inner layer of impact-resistant plastic. Two narrow pockets under the flap accompany a secured, soft-lined back pocket to store various accessories. Customizable options include a choice of hardware in matte black or nickel, as well as various color options for the underside of the flap which include black, 'wiki,' or pink. A removable suspension shoulder strap with a built-in non-sliding shoulder pad suspends the load to make it feel lighter, according to the company.
