Ricoh intros new color laser printers, MFPs
Ricoh today introduced the Aficio SP C222DN color laser printer alongside the Aficio SP C222SF series of color laser multifunction products (MFPs, shown at right). The six new models feature a sleek and compact design to provide a more personal look and feel for small offices requiring color documents, according to Ricoh. The SP C220DN, SP C221DN, and SP C222DN are priced at $530, $630 and $760, respectively. The Aficio SP C220S is available for $830, while the SP C221SF is priced at $950 and the SP C222SF sells for $1,050.
Designed to integrate easily in any office environment, the Aficio SP C222DN and Aficio SP C222SF Series are easy to set up and manage, using less than half the quantity of supplies of previous Ricoh models.
The Aficio SP C222DN Series is made up of three separate models: the Aficio SP C220DN, SP C221DN, and SP C222DN. The Aficio SP C220DN produces black and white as well as color prints at 16 pages per minute (ppm), while the SP C221DN and SP C222DN both generate documents at 21 ppm. First print speed for the entire series is 14 seconds, according to Ricoh, and the SP C222DN also comes standard with automatic duplexing that reduces paper use as well as supply costs.
The Aficio SP C222DN series supports resolutions up to 2400 x 600 dots per inch (dpi), and color profiles allow users to print company logos or brand colors.
Managing the Aficio SP C222DN Series is made simple with Status Image Monitor software, which enables users to check supply levels and change settings via the Web. The printers control panel uses an alert light for error notifications and LED indicators that tell users when supplies need to be replenished. Ricoh also equipped the new series with All-in-One Cartridges that are replaceable with one hand and a top-loading design on the printers for easy access. The SP C222DN model enables users to print photos via the color printers' PictBridge support that connects to a compliant digital camera.
SP C220S MFP Multifunction
The SP C220S MFP features copy, print, and scan capabilities with the ability to print and copy at 16ppm for black and white as well as color documents. The Aficio SP C221SF and SP C222SF each print and copy at 21 ppm. The Aficio SP C221SF and SP C222SF also offer facsimile features that include a G3 transmission speed of 3 seconds per page, a 100-page memory capacity with 20 One-Touch numbers and 50 Speed Dials to offer increased speed.
All three MFPs provide resolutions of up to 2400 x 600 dpi and laser quality printing and copying to ensure fast, consistent results. Users can scan items at resolutions of up to 1200 x 1200 dpi, and can convert to text for easy editing.
