QuickerTek ships Quicky with tougher case
QuickerTek has announced that its Quicky Mac wireless booster is now shipping with a stronger case, answering customer requests to make the device more rugged. The Quicky expands the wireless reception of any MacBook, iBook, or PowerBook from Apple's built-in 30mW AirPort card to 500mW. The device is priced at $225 and comes with a 1-year warranty on parts and labor.
"The Quicky case is now tougher, using the latest manufacturing methods to construct a case that will deliver years of active mobile use," the company said. "Wireless performance is not hindered in any way and customers need not sacrifice anything."
The Quicky offers users up to 10 times the wireless range of a stock iBook or MacBook, according to QuickerTek, providing access to networks at further distances and improving signal strength. The device simply plugs in and works automatically, offering complete compatibility with Apple's AirPort Base Stations as well as Mac OS X Leopard.
