The new Interactive Media categories include Browser-Based Design, Non-Browser Based Design, Designer/Developer Collaboration, Installation Design and Mobile Design, while Motion Media categories include Animation, Live Action and Motion Graphics. Adobe said that the traditional Media categories include Illustration, Packaging, Photography, and Print Communications. Submissions will be accepted online through May 2, 2008 and finalists next year will be selected in May and flown to New York City (the event this year was held in San Francisco). Adobe has invited a panel of twelve judges who will oversee entries for the competition: Emily Chang of Ideacodes; Joshua Davis of Joshua Davis Studios; Tina Roth Eisenberg of Swissmiss Studio; David Gensler of Keystone Design Union; Eric John of Forum Nokia; Adrian Johnson of Adrian Johnson, Ltd.; Maya Kopytman of C&G Partners; Michael Lebowitz of Big Spaceship; Rebecca Mendez of Rebecca Mendez Design; Independent Filmmaker Joan Raspo; Stan Szymanski of Sony Pictures Imageworks, and Armin Vit of UnderConsideration. Entrants have a chance to win a trip to New York, as well as some cash prizes. Crestock's competition is targeted at design professionals who are proficient with Photoshop, while Adobe's will also focus on interactive media, motion media and traditional media. The Crestock Photoshop Contest will run over a course of four weeks – from November 13th until December 11th – where participants are given a series of images to manipulate in humorous or impressive ways. The Crestock Photoshop Contest will be judged by Mike Rundle, CEO at 9Rules; Jonathan Snook, Owner of Snook.ca; MacNN's Sean Lieberman (lead forum administrator) and Roger Johansson, Owner of 456Bereastreet; among others. Prizes depend on which week of the competition it is, with prizes ranging from iPods to a quad-core Mac Pro with dual 30-inch displays.
