Veteran bag manufacturer Tom Bihn updated its sturdy laptop bag, the Brain Cell, while Solo has introduced a rugged backpack-style bag for 15.4" laptops, called the Urban Long Haul. The Brain Cell has been modified to include 12mm of memory foam on the bottom edge, in addition to the other layers of protection already offered by the bag – soft foam padding, corrugated plastic, and cross-linked polyethylene foam. The bag is offered in a number of colors and sizes, and comes in horizontal and vertical styles, available for $60.

The Urban Long Haul is a large backpack, featuring a padded corduroy lined section that can hold a 15" widescreen laptop, with a rear entry providing easy access to the compartment. The bag features a large interior compartment, and large organizer pockets, to hold a number of different personal items ranging from magazines to PDAs. An air cushion provides extra comfort and protection, while the cushioned handle and adjustable shoulder straps are designed to ensure maximum comfort. The Urban Long Haul is available for $80 in either olive or black.
