SoloRecord certified Leopard compatible
Arcosoft today announced that it has tested its VONaLink SoloRecord VoIP call recording software under Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard, confirming the application's compatibility with Apple's newest operating system. VONaLink works with any VoIP phone system based on the open SIP standard -- such as Vonage -- to record phone calls or provide screen "pops," and the company's VONaLink ScreenPop software is also available when recording is not required. Both VONaLink SoloRecord ($100) and ScreenPop ($30) are Universal Binaries that run natively on Intel-based Macs, requiring Mac OS X 10.3 or later.
"Call recording benefits a company by allowing business transactions over the phone to be verified and disputes resolved. With traditional phone systems, calls are recorded with either analog equipment or expensive, proprietary products from the phone company," Arcosoft said. "With the latest VoIP systems built on open, standard protocols, calls can be recorded by monitoring network packets."
VONaLink SoloRecord works with any SIP based VoIP system while supporting soft, hard, and analog phones via an adapter. The call is recorded as a stereo WAV or compressed file, and users can add an inaudible watermark to the recording for later verification that the file has not been changed.
Using the caller ID of the incoming call, SoloRecord or ScreenPop searches for the caller in Address Book, or launches custom applications to search the web or company database. When a caller is found, the information pops up on the screen to increase productivity.
Users can add unwanted callers to the reject list, and integration with Vonage Click to Call supports placing outbound calls by clicking in the call log within the VONaLink application.
