Led Zeppelin is one of the few remaining hugely successful rock bands to hold out on digital sales of its music, despite plummeting CD and DVD sales reported by the big four music labels. The English rock band formed in September of 1968 with four members: John Bonham, John Paul Jones, Jimmy Page, and Robert Plant. Regarded by many as one of the first heavy metal bands, Led Zeppelin's guitar-heavy music is still held in high regard by many in the music industry as influential. The band's works reached an abrupt halt in 1980, however, after band member John Bonham passed away. Led Zeppelin is the only band in history that managed to get all of its albums into the U.S. Billboard Top 10, and has sold more than 300 million albums globally with almost 110 million of those sales occurring in the U.S. alone.
