Apple coming to NYC: Brooklyn, Manhattan (concepts)
Confirming earlier reports, Apple may be looking to build a fourth retail store in New York located at The Edge in Williamsburg. The location boasts 75,000 square feet of retail space, according to the New York Post, residing near 1,350 residential condo units under construction alongside as many as 2,500 condos slated for development within a two-block area. The Edge runs along Kent Avenue from North 5th Street to North 7th Street near the shopping district along North 6th Street.
Separately, Apple may be re-investigating a corner retail location ranging between 3,000 and 5,000 square feet across from the Empire State Building. Development plans will cost up to $125 million, and city permits have already been issued to a firm which will set up scaffolding around the address as well as the adjacent addresses.
Financial records reveal that Apple would be the sole tenant of a 27,900 square foot building with a lease lasting through January of 2022, according to ifoAppleStore. Apple's annual lease payment would average $6 million, which equates to around $219.80 per square foot. The loan documents also state that Apple is obligated to construct a two or three-story building at the site.

Apple recently signed a deal with India telecom giant Reliance for $19.3 billion to build a series of iStores that will showcase Macs, iPods, and eventually the iPhone. The agreement details the opening of 10 Apple iStores in India, with the first location expected to open in Banglore by the end of October.
