CalDigit offers 2TB FireWir...
CalDigit this week added the FireWireVR 2TB dual drive to its lineup of storage solution products. This new unit allows for the universal connectivity -- including FireWire 400, 800, and USB 2.0 -- and offers hardware-based RAID settings of 0, 1, and JBOD (which are located on the device itself). The FireWireVR product utilizes SATA 3Gb/s drives with 32MB of cache per drive to meet the high-speed demands of applications, such as with Final Cut Studio 2 and Adobe Creative Suite. The FireWire RAID solution supports uncompressed 8-bit/10-bit SD editing for multi-stream uncompressed SD, DVCPRO, HDV and DV non-linear video editing systems. The solution can store up 2TB of capacity, is daisy-chainable without performance loss, and is compatible with Apple’s ProRes 422 HD workflows and AJA IoHD. It features removable, replaceable drive module in an aluminum case (with a ball bearing fan and 60W power supply). It is compatible with both PCs and Macs and ships with a two-year warranty.
