Parallels Desktop for Mac Pro, Leopard
Parallels today announced that it is making available the Update Release Candidate (RC) for Parallels Desktop for Mac, the first solution that enables users to run Windows and other operating systems alongside Mac OS X on any Intel-based Mac without rebooting. The update RC, which is free for all Parallels Desktop users, adds support for the recently released quad-processor Mac Pro towers outfitted with up to 3.5GB of memory. The update RC offers full compatibility with the developer builds of Mac OS X 10.5 "Leopard," as well as experimental guest OS support for the beta builds of Windows Vista, the next generation of Microsoft's Windows operating system which is due to ship in early 2007. The final release of the update is expected in the next few weeks; the full version is priced at $80.

The Update RC also ensures that a Solaris guest OS no longer hangs after suspend/resume, and includes an improved Parallels Tools package. The update offers full support for OpenBSD 3.8 as a guest operating system, and supports G4U hard disk cloning tool in virtual machines.
