The application offers a simple what you see is what you get user interface, common widget templates, and powerful Javascript debugging tools for advanced developers, according to Dashboard Widgets. Dashcode reportedly has four templates which include QuickTime, Web search, Webcam, and RSS, all of which can each be used to create a widget with minimal configuration. The application enables developers to easily position and resize elements, allowing users to create standard Dashboard buttons along with form elements. Javascript controls the elements in a split design/code view, and Dashcode may also feature Javascript code completion.
