Targus today introduced its latest additions to its line of iPod accessories, including two new RemoteTunes wireless remotes, as well as an adapter that provides compatibility between older accessories with new iPod products. The two new RemoteTunes connect to the 30-pin iPod dock connector and are compatible with the newest iPods, including the iPod, iPod nano, iPod mini, 4G and photo models. "Whether the iPod is in another room or in a backpack, pocket, purse or briefcase, users can adjust the volume, change the song selection or turn off the iPod with a RemoteTunes, which are small enough to easily carry around." Featuring RF technology, the RemoteTunes devices do not require line of sight functionality, enabling control of the iPod even through walls.

Remote functions include volume up/down, fast forward/reverse, advance/previous track, play, pause, shuffle and repeat. Both remotes automatically go into "sleep" mode after two minutes of non-use. RemoteTunes for iPod with Dock Connector (model no. AER02US) offers quick and easy access to the iPod or iPod nano. Users can select and adjust all functions from across the room or outdoors, while the iPod is in a backpack, purse, pocket or briefcase. It will be available in March for $60. The RemoteTunes TX for iPod nano offers both a wireless remote and integrated FM transmitter (model no. AER04US). It features an ultra-compact case that holds the Nano and the remote for added protection and convenience, as well as a built-in FM transmitter, users can control iPod functions from across the room as well as listen to playback via a home or car stereo. It will be available in March for $80. Targus also announced a new 9-Pin to 30-Pin Adapter (model no. AEC26US), which enables iPod and iPod nano owners to connect to selected older accessories. Compatible with iPod and iPod nano, as well as iPod mini, 4G, and iPod photo, the Adapter delivers seamless connectivity. For iPod mini, iPod photo and 4G users, two accessories can be used simultaneously, such as a wireless remote and an FM transmitter. It will also ship in March for $20. Wireless Remote for iPod with remote connector The company already offers a range of iPod accessories, including a Targus RemoteTunes Wireless Remote for iPod (with remote connector). The $40 item includes wireless remote control and home kit for the iPod. Users can control the iPod up to 150 feet away, using the usual controls such as volume, track forward/reverse, play, stop/pause and sleep mode. The kit also includes a convenient tabletop stand for the iPod that has a line out jack to connect to a stereo or a set of headphones.
