Feral to bring Imperial Glo...
Feral today announced that it would develop a Mac version of Pyro Studios' epic Real Time Strategy (RTS) game, Imperial Glory. Set in the late 18th century during the Napoleonic Wars, players can control one of five European nations – France, Great Britain, Prussia, Russia and Austria, "as they struggle for military, diplomatic and economic supremacy in the race to become empires." The gameplay is similar to the Total War games, but adds naval battles, a tech tree, and "quests." The company expects to ship the title in fourth quarter of 2005. [updated]

"Striking environments provide the backdrop for gruesome scenes of combat. Fully interactive battle maps allow you to gain a defensive advantage by occupying buildings, forests, boulder fields and more. The varying climates and terrains of the 50 plus maps dramatically change the look and feel of battles. Realistic weather effects influence your troops' ability and will to fight." The title maintains historically accurate units and weaponry while also encompassing war, diplomacy, politics, commerce and technology. Feral says the the game provides challenging, rewarding gameplay encompassing war, diplomacy, politics, commerce and technology and that it allows users to develop and expand their Empire throughout Europe and North Africa, across 55 Provinces and 29 Maritime Regions. The game features two distinct game play modes--including the turn-based Imperial Management Model or realtime land and naval battles in 3D--as well as a multiplayer support.
