Acapela offers advanced speech synthesis for Mac
Acapela today announced the release of Acapela Multimedia for Mac OS X, a speech synthesis solution designed to make Mac multimedia applications voice-enabled. "Voice synthesis is an important element in multimedia applications, as it creates an interactive interface between computers and computer users, thereby facilitating innovative communication exchanges," Acapela said. The SDK offers resources for reading and learning languages, e-learning, talking characters, proof reading, personal assistants, edutainment and productivity. Acapela Text to Speech generates smooth and natural sounding voices, providing "high intelligibility and naturalness for the end-user."

Acapela Multimedia for Mac OS X is also used to make information available for visually impaired, dyslexic, ageing or illiterate people. Text to Speech enables a "new workstation relationship," freeing users from screen dependence, and offering new technology applications.

Automatic intonation reflects the meaning of the text, with respect to pauses, breath groups, punctuation and context.

Acapela Multimedia High Quality Text to Speech for Mac OS X SDK is currently available in 12 languages and a wide portfolio of voices: Arabic, Dutch NL, Dutch B, English UK, English US, French, German, Italian, Norwegian, Polish, Spanish and Swedish. And 12 additional languages are available with the High Density technology.
