Troll Touch TouchSTAR serie...
Web UK, Ltd. today announced several new innovative TouchSTAR touchscreen products by Troll Touch, which will be on display at this week's Apple Expo 2004 (Booth 18): the new TouchSTAR iSeries 12 & 14 for iBooks and the new TouchSTAR pSeries 12, 15 & 17 for Powerbooks. Both products allow any user of an Apple portable computer to easily add or remove touchscreen functionality to their laptop without system modification. Using a patent-pending slipcover design, the TouchSTAR frame is made of durable aluminum that elegantly matches each portable. (Pricing not available.)

Users can easily slip the TouchSTAR system over the portable's screen and connect the USB cable to quickly enable touch screen functionality. Drivers and calibration tools are provided for both Mac OS X Jaguar and Panther.

Troll Touch also launched its TouchSTAR cSeries, which uses the same concept for adding touchscreen functionality to the new 20-inch, 23-inch and 30-inch Apple Cinema displays. Made of rugged aluminum, the cSeries's design slides horizontally across the Cinema display to instantly add a touch functions to the flat-panel displays. The TouchSTAR cSeries come with drivers and calibration tools for systems running Mac OS X, Windows and Red Hat linux.

Touchscreens emulate a mouse to provide the most intuitive desktop navigation. The devices use the latest pressure sensitive resistive technology to provide 4096 x 4096 points of touch resolution and are tested to over 10,000,000 touches for durability. The new TouchSTAR systems can be secured to the host system with standard Kensington security cables.
