Macs are used in a larger number of mid size and bigger broadcast stations while PCs dominate in cable systems of all sizes." The same report shows that 39% of U.S. FX/dynamic media studios use Macs as their primary system for pipeline/production workstations--up 11% from a year ago which "suggests more studios are using Mac workstations today. Macs are used in a larger number of smaller studios while PCs dominate in larger studios and many studios use both platforms." [updated]
