Briefly: App Store gains new landing page, Fisheye Fixer
Apple has implemented a new splash page into the updated App Store in iOS 6, reports from testers say. When launching the App Store for the first time customers will now be greeted by a page that promotes Apple's own free apps. In addition to listing Apple's free apps, the page also includes a button that will automatically install iBooks, iTunes U, Podcasts, Find My Friends, and Find My iPhone. iOS 6 will launch on September 19 as a free update for the iPhone 3GS and later, the second- and third-generation iPad, and fourth-generation iPod touch. The OS will also ship on the iPhone 5 on Friday, as well as the latest iPod touch in October.

Fisheye Fixer for GoPro launched

CrumplePop has released a new Final Cut Pro X plug-in that is capable of repairing fisheye lens distortion in GoPro footage. Fisheye Fixer for GoPro was created specifically for use with the GoPro's fisheye lens and settings, and includes controls for defining horizon lines and frame edges. The software is priced at $49, however for the next week customers can use the coupon "FSHF-0010-INTR-0918" for an instant $10 discount.
