Deneba announced today the release of Canvas 8 Professional Edition for Classic and OS X. The illustration application integrates photo editing, page layout, presentation, and Web graphics editing. New features includes vector and raster Sequence recording and support for AppleScript, ColorSync, and QuickTime as well as customizable Web image slicing and direct Flash and PDF export.

The release expands support of AppleScript through a new events recorder for better automation, improves useability through new context-sensitive menus, and extends image-editing functions by including new inks and filters. The $400 application is available as a $250 upgrade. Most owners Canvas 7 can upgrade for free if purchased after March 31, 2001, while other registered 7 owners can upgrade for $170.
