Early morning tech: Networking software maker Novell has filed suit against Microsoft in federal court to stop it from spreading "false and misleading" statements that Novell was shifting away from software development. Compaq warned it would report an operating loss in the third quarter after the weak economy, its own merger plans and the chaos following the attacks on the World Trade Center converged to create "the perfect storm;" and the Federal Reserve is expected to slash the interest rate by 50 basis points at today's policy meeting.

    There is no hope

Unless Microsoft is broken up into little pieces, THEY will own all the major means of communication in both computing, music, radio and television within 10 years. I urge you to write your congressperson like I have ASAP.

    2. The Macintosh operating system is more compatible than Windows OSes, as emulators exist to emulate Pentium III and IV compatible software on the Mac, when only 68k Mac emulation exists on the PC.

    3. All Macs have built in DSL and Cable internet hardware support by having built in network cards.

    4. All Macs support SVGA displays. The PC standard.

    5. Most USB printers are supported by Macs, and those that aren't are supported by Strydent's Powerprint.

    6. Filemaker Pro has ODBC support.

    7. Mac OS X has root accounts disabled by default making even the newest Mac operating system much more secure than any Windows OS.

    8. Over 18000 Macintosh software solutions exist at http://guide.apple.com/
